FAQ

The non-refundable deposit protects the transaction and ensures dogs are only reserved by people who are genuinely interested. Unfortunately there are people who fantasy shop and reserve dogs with several breeders with no intention of accentually buying all the dogs they have reserved. A non-refundable deposit protects us and true buyers from these "fantasy shoppers”.

We will take a check through the mail for the deposit, because we do not reserve your puppy until that check clears the bank. We do not take a check for final payment on the day of delivery because it obviously will not have cleared the bank. We ask for a cash transaction on the day we delivery the dogs because we are bringing the real dog we expect you to bring the real payment. Honestly we want to trust everyone, but experience has taught us to be careful.

Limited registration is simply put without breeding or showing rights, unlimited would therefore include those options. We charge a onetime fee of $200 for Unlimited Registration. Limited registration requires you show proof of spay or neuter prior to you receiving AKC registration documents.

We have in the past, yes. However this is an exception to the norm, and done on a case by case biases only. The deposit is officially non-refundable. We reserve the right to refund people’s money if we agree there is a reason to.
We always reserve the right to first pick from our litters.
Our waiting list is unique. We place people on lists for specific color and sex. For example: 9 people on the list; 2 looking for a Female Fawn, 3 looking for Male Brindle, and 4 a Male Fawn with Black Mask. People will be offered and hold a place on the list for the type of dog they are looking for. So, though you may be 1st on the list for a Female Fawn if you were also interested in a Male Brindle you could be 4th on that list.

Yes. All breeders likely have a waiting list, because there are people who, rightfully so, are looking for that perfect puppy. We always have people waiting, and though the list grows and shrinks from time to time, it is always a factor.

We deliver puppies at 8 weeks. It is for health reasons that puppies are not available before this time. In many states there are actually laws against selling a puppy before 8 weeks. At 8 weeks puppies have their vaccinations and are old enough to be relocated.
We deliver puppies again for health and safety concerns. We do not allow anyone to come to our home and pick up their puppies, because we do not want to take the risk of introducing an illness to our dogs. Additionally we do not want to invite potential theft. It is unfortunate that we have to be this cautious but it is in the best interest of our dogs.
Yes. We pay close attention to the buyers and constantly try to evaluate them. Buyers should also be evaluating us. There have on occasion been times we’ve suggested a buyer go somewhere else either because they do not seem to be a match for our puppies or because they are demanding we make exceptions to our safety precautions. We reserve the right to refuse a potential buyer out of concern for our pups, at all times our puppies come first.
Yes. We have had several occasions where people were unable to take their puppy for whatever reasons until after the 8 week delivery date. We are willing to hold them for a few more negotiable weeks, depending on the circumstances.
We always reserve the right to change our pricing, and to set prices. On average our males go for about $800 and our females for about $900. There is an additional $200 for unlimited registration. We try to keep our pricing fair and competitive. You should shop around and be sure you are getting the dog you want, no matter the price.
Yes, after 8 weeks you may see the puppies in person and buy then. We are willing to bring puppies after 8 weeks to people to look at and buy in person. There are rarely any puppies available at the 8 week date. We understand peoples concern with buying a puppy sight-unseen, however for our puppies’ protection we do not allow outside contact until after 8 weeks. We also offer a section on this website where we keep current photos of puppies and email photos.

Our family has been breeding boxers as a hobby for several years. We have only been doing it under the name of KJ Boxers for the past two or three years. We are NOT full time breeders. We have regular people jobs and do regular people things too. Boxers are our passion, hobby and best friends, not our source of income.
KJ Boxers is not a member of any Boxer Club. We breed boxers as a hobby not a profession and we do not enter competitions or show our dogs at this time.

We require a non-refundable $200 deposit for our Boxers. When a Boxer is reserved, we hold that dog for that person, the deposit protects the transaction. It also helps to weed out those who are not serious buyers. Phantom or fantasy buyers are those who are shopping several locations at once, and will ask to put a hold on a boxer pretending to be a legitimate buyer when in fact they are placing holds all around. This prevents truly interested people from having an opportunity to reserve the boxer and creates a situation in which the legitimate buyer does not get the opportunity to reserve the dog. The sketchy shopper backs out, the legitimate buyer has moved on and we get stuck trying to sell a boxer that is older than people are looking for. Therefore the $200 non-refundable deposit is our way of protecting the buyer, us and our dogs.

Not always… There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Simply put if we offer or advertise a Boxer for sale we will sale them with two exceptions. The first of which being we discover a pup unfit for sale for any reason. Secondly if we determine that a potential buyer should not own a boxer, due to incompatible life styles or indications they will not make good boxer owners. If a pup is pulled from sale a full refund would be given.
